THE CHILDFREE PHENOMENON AMONG URBAN MUSLIMS: A MULTIDISCIPLINARY EXAMINATION OF SCIENCE AND MORALITY

The concept of childfree represents a multifaceted issue, influenced by diverse array factors, including economic, cultural, social, and philosophical considerations. A comprehensive understanding the phenomenon necessitates an approach that extends beyond strict reliance on religious interpretation, incorporating other scientific disciplines. Therefore, integration morals science through multidisciplinary framework becomes imperative. In this context, mubadalah approach, aligned with integration-interconnection paradigm, emerges as suitable methodology for unravelling complexities within society. This article endeavours to analyse from perspective mubadalah, prioritizing dialogue between morality context marriage. research employed is descriptive qualitative, employing literature study approach. findings reveal semipermeable method position in society has led emergence three new perspectives: just perspective, humanist rooted value tawhid. These perspectives encompass following notions: firstly, presence children assumes central role marital union, requiring thoughtful consideration both partners; secondly, not solely matter fitrah (innate human disposition), but also involves psychological moral dimensions; finally, childfree, medical standpoint, permissible Islam. perspectives, derived disciplines, frameworks, interpretations, contribute nuanced childfree.
